Les Canadiennes rips Brampton Thunder, 5-2

Les Canadiennes had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-2 win over Brampton Thunder.

Les Canadiennes’ penalty kill excelled, as Les Canadiennes gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

Brampton Thunder was unable to stop Les Canadiennes from sending pucks towards the net, and Les Canadiennes eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. Les Canadiennes could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 14 minutes in penalties during the game.

Les Canadiennes was led by Ann-Sophie Bettez, who registered one goal and one assist. Bettez scored on the power play 12:34 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Les Canadiennes. Les Canadiennes had gotten the advantage when Brampton Thunder’s Jesse Scanzano was sent off for slashing. Lauriane Rougeau picked up the assist. Les Canadiennes also got points from Caroline Ouellette, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Marie-Philip Poulin, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Les Canadiennes also had goals scored by Noemie Marin and Katia Clement-Heydra, who scored one goal each.
