The Markham Thunder are excited to announce two returning sponsors for this season who will help continue to grow the game for women’s hockey. Grote and Brad Morris will be sponsoring season passes for the Markham Stouffville Stars, with AR3 Capital and Kevin Reed sponsoring Leaside Wildcats. Both house league and rep teams are included in these sponsorships.
“Brad was a leader in getting this idea of sponsoring associations to help get players to games. This initiative has taken off, and we now have a total of 5 associations who are sponsored this season,” remarks General Manager, Chelsea Purcell. “Kevin loved the idea last year and it was a huge success, so they were both on board to do it again this season. A sponsorship that gives back to the young players doesn’t get any better.”
The amount of teams that came out last year and gained a new favorite player or role model was outstanding. “Our Thunder players are amazing with the girls and it’s made many teams already book Thunder games. We are looking forward to growing the connection within the communities around us and giving the chance for these young girls to have dreams of playing in this league,” states Purcell.
“With the Clarkson Cup Champions being such a special part of the Markham area community, we thought what an outstanding way to show young players these professional and accomplished women. A place where young dreams and exceptional role models combust together,” remarks Brad Morris, President of Grote Industries Inc.
“Leaside Wildcats is the premier girls hockey association in the world. Partnering with the defending Clarkson Cup Champions is a great example for these young up and coming hockey players,” states Kevin Reed, CEO of AR3 Capital Inc.
Partnerships like this help grow the game, and show young players that they too can play professional hockey when they grow up. We look forward to welcoming the Stars and Wildcats back to Thornhill Community Centre, and send our deepest thanks to Grote and AR3 Capital for their continued support of the Thunder and female hockey!
