December 2, 2017 – You Can Play Project
The CWHL was the first league to partner with YCP in working to create inclusive sporting environments for players, staff, fans and communities. The Thunder have hosted many successful games in support of YCP while in our previous home of Brampton, and are excited to working with Pflag York Region for our first You Can Play Game in Markham. Special Thunder pride shirts will be available for purchase at the game.
January 20, 2018 – Baycrest Pro-Am for Alzheimer’s
Join the Markham Thunder as they take on the Kunlun Red Star and raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer’s. The Thunder are partnering with Baycrest and their Pro-Am tournament. You can donate towards the Thunder’s team here.
Baycrest will be there auctioning off an autographed Darryl Sittler jersey plus will have a PLINKO board to play! There will also be player jerseys from last year’s Pro-Am being auctioned off.
February 24, 2018 – Do It For Daron: DIFD
The Thunder are very proud to be partnered with DIFD to help raise awareness about youth mental health. Follow them on social media the week prior as they speak up about mental health. You can also bid on game worn, autographed jerseys on their facebook page. You will be donating to an amazing cause and getting a specialty Thunder Jersey!
