The Markham Thunder pride themselves on giving back to the community and causes that are close to them. They will be hosting several fundraiser/awareness games this year. With your support we can help raise awareness about youth mental health, safety and inclusion in sport and also raise money for local communities.
You Can Play Project
The CWHL was the first league to partner with YCP in working to create inclusive sporting environments for players, staff, fans and communities. The Thunder have hosted many successful games in support of YCP while in our previous home of Brampton, and are excited to working with Pflag York Region for our first You Can Play Game in Markham. Special Thunder pride shirts will be available for purchase at the game.
Baycrest Pro-Am for Alzheimer’s
The Thunder have partnered with Baycrest and their Pro-Am tournament for the past two years.
February17, 2018 – Do It For Daron: DIFD
The Thunder are very proud to be partnered with DIFD to help raise awareness about youth mental health. Follow them on social media the week prior as they speak up about mental health. You can also bid on game worn, autographed jerseys on their facebook page. You will be donating to an amazing cause and getting a specialty Thunder Jersey. Last year the game raised over $5000!
DIFD mitts, toques and stickers will be available for sale with all proceeds going towards DIFD. Visit difd.com to donate now.
