On June 4, 2018, the 2018 Clarkson Cup Champions, the Markham Thunder, will travel to Ottawa and meet Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The invitation to Parliament Hill is the first given to a Canadian Women’s Hockey League Champion, and would not have been possible without the support of Dan and Paul Harbridge, the City of Markham, and Markham-Thornhill MP Mary Ng.

“This is very big of Trudeau to do, to step up and show the support around women’s sports.” General Manager Chelsea Purcell said to the CBC. “I think this is a big step for women’s hockey and will help give the team and the league some amazing exposure.”

The Thunder will be sharing the experience on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook, as well as right here on our official website. Be sure to follow us on June 4 throughout the whole day.
