Brampton Thunder beats Toronto Furies 3-2 after comeback scare

Brampton Thunder survived a determined comeback attempt by Toronto Furies on the way to a 3-2 win.

A goal by Jess Jones put Brampton Thunder up 3-1 in the third period, but Toronto Furies pulled to within one on Alyssa Baldin‘s tally 15:08 into the third period.

Brampton Thunder was paced on offense by Jones and Jamie Lee Rattray, who combined for six points. Jones registered one goal and two assists and Rattray also notched one goal and two assists.

Brampton Thunder’s penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Toronto Furies power plays. Brampton Thunder’s offense rang up 43 shots on Toronto Furies’ net. Brampton Thunder was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 14 penalty minutes.

Brampton Thunder also got points from Candice Styles, who also tallied one goal and two assists and Rattray, who also finished with one goal and two assists.

Toronto Furies stifled Brampton Thunder’s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

More assists for Toronto Furies came via Emily Fulton and Natalie Spooner, who contributed two each.
